How we make it:
- 1 teaspoon of tea per mug
- 90C water
- Brew for 3-4 minutes
- Always best without milk
Roasted, savoury, mellow, hint of smoke
Hojicha is unusual as it is a roasted green tea from Japan. While most Japanese tea is green and steamed this tea has a toasty flavour. The roasting process also lowers the caffeine levels which means it has a more soothing effect. This tea is often given to children in Japan, almost a ‘starter tea’!
If you are not a fan of the marine notes of Sencha then this may be your new favourite all day tea. Savoury and grounding. Great for helping you feel more ‘earthed’.
